I remember the first time I heard “Barlight” on the radio in DFW, I listened to see who was singing it…I loved the song. I found out it was Charlie Robison! The next time Billy was in the truck with me, I called the radio station hotline and asked them to play it “now.” Billy loved it too and shortly afterwards, Charlie Robison found himself on the main stage at Billy Bob’s Texas…that was April 16, 1999. Since then, Charlie has been a regular at The World’s Largest Honky Tonk, performing more than 30 times (so far). Charlie is not only a great songwriter and performer, he’s a fun guy to be around, has some crazy friends (like World Champion Bull Rider Tuff Hedeman), and has been generous to many charities. Why did it take so long for him to record a Live at Billy Bob’s Texas record? We don’t know…but we do know you will really enjoy “Barlight” in this fun live version. Oh yeah, there’s a dozen more great songs on this CD too.
